When Scintilla Studio first started, it promises to capture, moments and emotions. Everything was done from scratch and I had no experience in the wedding industry. I didn’t know where to find my clients, how much to charge, where to print their photographs, where to create albums. There was a lot of where and how and definitely a lot of ??? running through my head.
I didn’t have a portfolio and I posted on my personal blog as well as forums, offering free photography but received very little response. A lovely couple gave me the break and tasked me to shoot their wedding. It was the first official assignment I took which I didn’t charge. I was thankful to them as they gave me the opportunity to learn on the job. They gave me a really big red packet which really warmed my heart as I didn’t expect something like that.
Things started moving and I was shooting more assignments. My first paid assignment was where I met Shann, a cinematographer. We met again after I recommended her to one of my couple. I met her three more times within that year, at different wedding assignments! She is really easy to work with as we hardly had to fight for spaces or have our pictures full of each other when we shoot. It’s kind of frustrating when you shoot and you have a fellow photographer or cinematographer who runs opposite you and appear in your frame.![]()
Well…kind of coincidence in a way, I was looking for a cinematographer and Shann also had just left her former company. Shann and myself now forms the bigger Scintilla Studio (yeah!!! I am no longer lonely…). It’s photography + cinematography all under 1 brand. Different team but same approach…capturing * moments * emotions.
We promise to carry on delivering your wedding pictures and videos in the most fashionable and romantic manner. Something that will touch and warm your heart. It’s all about celebrating love.
With love from us @ Scintilla Studio
